MONA January meeting

MONA held its First Quarter meeting last week to hear Mayor Mary Hawkins-Butler report about developments in Madison.  Yes, there are more new stores about to start construction here. 

The new bridge on Hoy over the railroad tracks has experienced some delays, and is now expected to be complete by the end of April.  Phase 1 on Hoy Road improvements from Hwy 51 to Old Canton Road is complete.  Phase 2 from Old Canton Road to Rice Road has been engineered and is awaiting the next funding cycle.  Phase 3 from Rice Road to the east has been engineered and is awaiting funding.

She annouced that Baptist Hospital has announced a medical physical fitness facility will be constructed at their property at Highland Colony Parkway and Hwy 463.

MONA is the Municipal Organization of Neighborhood Associations.  It is made up of subdivision homeowner associations which gather quarterly to exchange information that is helpful concerning solutions to common problems.

About 40 to 50 MONA representatives met in the Public Works Building on Hwy 51 to hear the Mayor speak.  Channel 3 TV covered the event.  MONA has listed 74 subdivisions in Madison.
